Preparing for the climb of Mt. Elbrus in Russia, the highest peak in Europe, we bought some new gear. Part of the new gear was mountaineering boots. Now, you never want to use new gear for the first time on a big trip or a race, especially when it involves the feet.
To test the boots, Josie and I made our way over to the Columbia Icefields on the Jasper-Banff Parkway to climb Mt. Athabasca (3491m).
